Welcome to TheRooms! This guide will help you jump in and start exploring.
🎮 How to Play
First Time Setup
Open the game in your browser (no installation needed!)
Choose your character from 45+ available models
Select a room type to spawn in
Start exploring and building!
🕹️ Controls
Movement
Arrow Keys or WASD: Move your character
Mouse: Look around and interact with the camera
Shift: Sprint (coming soon)
Camera
The camera automatically adjusts for each room type
Isometric view provides the best overview of your space
Interactions
Click on furniture to interact
Click and drag to place furniture items
Chat box: Type messages to communicate with others
🏠 Choosing Your Room
TheRooms offers 8 different room layouts:
Small (7×5): Cozy starter room, perfect for beginners
Medium (L-Shape): More space with an L-shaped layout
Large (T-Shape): Spacious T-shaped room for bigger builds
Studio (10×6): Rectangular studio apartment style
L-Shape (10×10): Large L-shaped room with lots of possibilities
Penthouse (Plus): Premium plus-shaped layout with center focus
Loft (Vertical L): Modern loft design with vertical emphasis
Suite (Wide T): Expansive T-shaped suite for grand designs
Each room has unique dimensions and spawn points optimized for gameplay.

🪑 Placing Furniture
Open the furniture menu (icon in the HUD)
Browse available furniture items
Click an item to select it
Click on the grid to place it in your room
Items snap to the grid for clean placement
Tips
Furniture uses a grid-based placement system
Some items may have collision, so place them thoughtfully
Your room layout persists - changes are saved automatically
🎭 Character Customization
Choose from 45+ character models including:
Male and female options
Casual, formal, and themed outfits
Various styles and appearances
To change your character:
Click the character icon in the HUD
Browse the character gallery
Click to select your new look
💬 Chat System
Communicate with other players:
Click the chat input at the bottom of the screen
Type your message
Press Enter to send
Messages appear in the chat history
🔧 Settings
Customize your experience:
Room Colors: Change floor and wall colors
Room Name: Give your space a personal touch
Debug Mode: Toggle collision visualizations (for developers)
